Here are the four reasons Nigeria will defeat Libya in Uyo

1. The resignation of their coach

Barely days to the crucial AFCON match against Nigeria, Libya coach Adel Amrouche resigned his duties as coach of the team.

Amrouche disclosed he was still being owed six months of his salary and this will have an effect on the morale to the team.

Libya won their first match to Seychelles and played out a goalless draw to South Africa. But with the manner at which their coach left, it might affect their performance against the Super Eagles.

2. Nigeria have the home advantage

The Godswill Akpabio Stadium is now a fortress to Nigerians and any team coming to play against the Super Eagles at the venue always have a field day.

The last time Nigeria lost a competitive match at the Akwa Ibom based stadium was against South African in October 2017.

The Super Eagles have defeated teams like Cameroon, Zambia, Algeria and the likes. The outcome of the Libya match is most likely a win.

3. Head to head in favour of Nigeria

Both teams have played three times and Nigeria have won two of the matches while Libya have a win.

The two wins against the North Africans came during a friendly in 2005 and at the just concluded CHAN tournament in January 2018, both matches ended 1-0 respectively.

4. Determination on the path of the Super Eagles

Nigeria have failed to qualify for the last two edition of the AFCON tournaments since late Stephen Keshi won the competition in 2013 in South Africa.

And coming into the match against Libya, it is a must win to increase their chances after losing their first match against South Africa in Uyo.
