There is mass anger among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Delta state as they condemned Senate President, Bukola Saraki, over the suspension of the the representing Delta Central district, Ovie Omo-Agege.

The Punch reports that the members spoke in Abuja on Tuesday, April 17.

The report said the leader of the team, Chief Great Ogboru, spoke at a press conference which was ongoing at the time of this report.

He told journalists that the Senate has no mandate to suspend a fellow colleague for airing his views at the red chamber.

NAIJ.com earlier reported the Senate suspended Ovie Omo-Agege, an All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator from Delta state, for 90 legislative days.

The upper legislative chamber took the decision after it considered a report by its ethics committee.

The committee had recommended that the senator be suspended for 181 days but the senate reduced it after pleas from lawmakers.

Omo-Agege was one of the senators who kicked against the election reordering bill.

NAIJ.com also reported that Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has explained why the Nigerian Senate suspended Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for 90 days.

Omo-Agege, an All Progressives Congress member representing Delta Central senatorial district, had openly opposed the red chamber’s elections reordering bill and subsequently instituted a case against the Senate in court to avoid being punished for his actions.
