– Chelsea are reportedly lining up a bid for Anthony Martial
– The Man United striker will be purchased if Hazard leaves
– The Frenchman was a second half substitute against Arsenal
Chelsea are set to make a surprise bid for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial in the summer.
The Blues have a slim chance to finish inside the Champions League qualification spots which could mark the end of Eden Hazard’s spell at the club.
Florentino Perez is set for a shake up at the Bernabeu after Real’s dismal defence of the La Liga title and Hazard could be on his way to the Spanish capital.
Chelsea believe Martial could be a potential replacement for the Belgian superstar at Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year-old slipped down the pecking order at United and may be up for a move to Chelsea if more game time will be guaranteed.
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are keen on the player, although no talks or move is understood to be close at this stage.
The Frenchman have also been linked with the defending Serie A champions Juventus and Premier League side Tottenham.
With a year left in his contract at Old Trafford the club reserve the right to extend that stay by a further 12 months unless he pushes for a move.
Martial came on for Jesse Lingard when Jose Mourinho’s side defeated Arsenal by 2-1 last weekend.
Following the uncertainties about Romelu Lukaku’s injury against the Gunners Martial could be handed a start in the match against Brighton and possibly the FA Cup final against Chelsea.
